Discover Twenty-Nine Fresh Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-loving superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's publisher, the game's creators, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look below at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with key context. All items listed below launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before diving into all the various unique products and collections on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a few surprising details. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can play big creatures onto the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the mechanic a bit (Sneak is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability since that's where it originated and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art designed specifically for the expansion by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your main deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, it’s now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

Following the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we were aware it would be in standard and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to make sure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area instead of just one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power precon is set at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to popularity. Sources told that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an extra 37 TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the deck comes with 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Regular basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza. There are six different pizza promos available.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • Ninety Non-foil basic lands (to build your deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • One Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to develop Magic game products specifically for beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The concept is that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
